you can have several choices...thru cable...or a naked DSL-line( non-home-phone-line) or the best at last wif-fi max-fixed....you got to see all your providers, and make a wise decision! the wi-fi is the coolest, you can take it with you anywhere there is a tower....just put the modem on the window...

NTL/Telewest do all their service independantly of each other and BT. So you can have broadband from them without even having a landline. Or you can have tv, phone and broadband. I don't understand why they've told you that they can't do it, but it's the only way round not having a BT line.

you do need to have a landline to be able to have broadband i work for bt and we do offer a monthly payment plan which helps you to break down the installation charge... i think that bulldog can provide broadband and a phoneline check to see if they are avilable in your area!

No matter what you do,there will be installation charges unless the company has free installation.
Satellite systems still require land line hook up.
Some cities or Internet companies are now starting to offer wireless Internet service city wide.

Try the following link and put in your post code:
http://www.mynow.co.uk/
or telephone: 0800 092 9889
You do not need a telephone line at all for them, as then send you a box that works like a mobile phone (all you do is plug it into the mains electricity and also the USB on your pc) and it then picks up a signal.
They are very good.

Yes, you can get Broadband. I live in the state of Illinois. I have Shawnee Link Naked DSL SERVICE. It's where you have to have telephone jacks where you live, but you don't HAVE TO HAVE HOME TELEPHONE SERVICE TO GET IT. It only costs 25.00 a month. You can also get verizon dsl service. Hope this helps some!
