i remember watching trevor berbick take on a then (relatively) unknown contender called mike tyson in 1986-it was of those defining moments in my life i shall never forget. the ring is a lonely place and anyone who steps into the ring has to be admired. while it can be argued that trevor berbick neither had the skill or flair of some of his peers (ali-in his earlier days/frazier/forman etc). it cannot be argued that he was a brave man and should be held in the same esteem as the gentlemen i have just mentioned. my thoughts go out to his family at this time-he was a warrior.

I followed Trevor's career. Feel free to email me and I can tell you many stories.

My favorite fight was of course his courageous battle with Ali. Trevor beat Ali down, and was Ali's final performance. Even though Ali got back into admirable shape after he lost embarrassingly to Larry Holmes (drugs put him in a scary state during that fight), Ali was no match for the power Trevor displayed that night.

God rest his soul. And may one of God's children find the barbarians who did that to Trevor and put them away for life.

Email me.

Brianna ~
Regardless of what any ones opinion is about Trevor, the man is dead and there's nothing that can take away the fact he was a Heavyweight Champion. Who am I to judge the man? May he rest in peace.
