Death, therefore, the most awful of evils, is nothing to us, seeing that, when we are, death is not come, and, when death is come, we are not. It is nothing, then, either to the living or to the dead, for with the living it is not and the dead exist no longer.

Basically this is saying death is nothing because when you die you are unaware that you are dead and becuase the person is dead and it no longer exists the it means nothing to the living either.

And when you think of the living dont think of the dead person's family think of other people who have never met the deceased. say for instance you found out some random person has died would you care? it would probably mean nothing to you.

Let me take it bit by bit because this says several things.
1) Death the most awful of evils
I would not say evil, but it is certainly not good. Death came about through sin. So it is not a good thing it was not created by God because it is only a corruption of the original creation.
aka these human work great, but now there is a bug in there system and they die! Not original programing.
2)When death has come we are not
No Because death only affects the body, not the soul so we still are, "If a man die shall he live again?" Yes. Back the corruption idea death is part of a physical corruption.
3)Therefore Death is nothing to us
Only if we exist no longer, but if we don't (Hamlet -Ah there lies the rub) death ought to occupy a considerable amount of our attention.

I do not agree. Anyone can have the sensation and experience of what it may be like to be dead, and some have died and came back. If one can imagine what the experience is, already it is something. Death is not a nothing... some may think it a nothing, I think it is more.

Death is the beginning of a new thing, it's part of the circle of life, with death comes a new life. Some most died so someone can be born.

Sounds like babble.

I am not afraid of death- for I am saved in Jesus Christ. But those who are not saved in Him, should be afraid of death as I am sure many are. For once you die, there is judgment just as the Bible says. And God will judge each and every one. I know that I have overcome death through Jesus Christ! I have eternal life in Him- what a blessing- and I do not deserve that.

And Hebrews 9:27 -Good verse!

Pretty much. Though I believe there are degrees of life and what might be considered living to some might be death to another.
Life is immortal and we live on in one state or another. Death is just another process of life.

I agree with everything except "the most awful of evils" death is not pursuing it's own agenda to our detriment.

I also disagree that it's nothing to the living. It can seriously traumatize the living.

I disagree. Being a Bible believer, the Bible says when we die, we go to one of two places....heaven or hell....Read Luke 16.
"It is appointed unto man ONCE to die, but after this the judgment".
Hebrews 9:27
