The correct answer would be to plural the birds, so it would in effect be a pair if tufted titmouse birds, if you pluralize the mouse into mice, you make it into a different reference, therefore vulgarizing the grammer

You could say: Titmouse Birds for plural
or: Titmice for plural assuming everybody knows they are birds LOL, LOL
