i see no problem with it, the only thing to be careful of is that you really 'legally' cant 'do anything', but that really only depends on where you live and if she is ready. But other than that, my best friend is 18 and her boyfriend is 21, when they started going out, she and i were 15 and he was 18. their parents were alright with it because they thought it was a friendship, but like any relationship, it will take work, it will just be hard when you, who is 18 will start either work or college, but if you truley like her and she truley likes you, it will work. so go ahead, ask her out, what can you lose if it doesnt work out? i mean honestly, its a 2 year age difference, but realize that age differences dont matter if you end up loving each other or you stay together for a while!

yeah, but before you ask her out be a REAL man, and ask her dad if he minds you dating his girl. That is what happened when I was 16 and an older guy wanted to date me. I was so impressed that he asked my dad first, I fell for him quick. Good luck

Make sure you're careful about Statutory Rape though. Her parents might not be keen on you two dating.
2 years is REALLY not a big difference.
Regarding the parents....just make sure you're a gentleman. Don't try to get into her pants right away!
