IS a paesold violin a good violin?

By good i mean is it good quality.nice sound,better than a beginner's violin?

Any violin made in the latter half of the 20th century is basically worthless. Keep it in the family for a couple hundred years and it'll be worth something. You could probably sell it for $750 thuogh, it depends on the condition.. Do you have pictures? Up close. .
