You can demonstrate the effects of air on fruit by cutting an apple in half and leaving it out for the two days. The air will cause oxidation of a chemical in the fruit called hydroquinine, causing it to turn brown. You will need two conditions of the apple to compare, so treat one half of the apple with a chemical or something that is supposed to slow down the oxidation process in fruit. I cannot name any of those chemicals; you can research those.

This is the simplest experiment I can think of involving fruit.

once you've the interest of transistors and good judgment gates you are able to make those blinking lighting fixtures. or you are able to make one in all those issues that police officials use to ascertain if someone is inebriated !! they use a chemical observed as k2cr2o7 which reacts with alcohol and oxidizes it to three carbonyl communities. k2cr207 is a coloured substance and for this reason at the same time as it really is fed on it has a tendency to loose its colour. a similar element should be finished with kmno4 or any colored oxidizing agent. you are able to also want to tutor that its a carbonyl crew through conduncting some checks of carbonyl communities(which many times contain substitute in colour). All you want is a inebriated human being.. however you are able to basically pour alcohol into the oxidizing agent to reveal the reaction. you are able to also make alcohol through the action of water on any alkene.

Using a product called "fruit fresh" from the grocers will keep it from oxidizing too quickly. Rubbing or submerge in lemon juice will also help keep the apple from turning dark too quickly.
