I COOK MINE FOR 2 HRS, ON 160, YOU MUST PUT PAPER ROUND THE TIN OTHERWISE IT WILL BURN THE OUTSIDE BEFORE THE MIDDLE IS COOKED, YOU CAN USE DOUBLE LAYER OF NEWSPAPER IF YOU WANT, CHECK TO SEE IF CAKE IS COOKED BY STICKING A SKEWER IN THE MIDDLE, IF IT COMES OUT DRY THE CAKE IS COOKED. hi I haven't a fan assisted oven, but I always cook my cake at gas mark 3, for 3 and 3/4 hours, for that size tin. Maybe as your heat is higher try around 3 hours and check it. I cook it covered for half an hour first then uncover till cooked if it looks as if its browning to quick, then recover for last half an hour, plus I always place the tin on newspaper whilst cooking. hope this helps.
