Can't speak for most Jews, but I question why he never married. Israelites became adults and married at a very early age (teens). In fact, men were not considered to be adult until marriage. If Jesus had not been married, he would have had no followers whatsoever. I've been told that the same thing is true to this day in the Muslim world.

I think of Jesus as one of the many rabbis teaching different versions of Judaism of the day. His family was never mentioned because it was understood that he would naturally have a family. Not having a family would have been a major problem!

Given that Jews dont consider Christ a deity, the book does not have religious value to them. I think it is so unreasonable to assume anything about a man who lived 2000 years ago and left no record other than gospels written by biased people, that the book should not repel Jews or anyone else.

The Da Vinci code is stupid. I understand the guy's a wacko; one minute it's a "fictional novel"; the next minute it's all fact. As a Messianic Jew, I find the story quite stupid and do not understand what all the fuss is about. People should not pay attention to The Da Vinci Crap.

Why should we have any issues----we do not believe Jesus was G-d. He was just a man who lived 2,000 years ago.

HOWEVER-any Jewish man who was 33 years old, not married and without a family was considered weird. That was one of the main goals of the Jews--as G-d told them, '' Be fruitful and multiply ''. They took this very seriously. So, what was wrong with Jesus if he did not have a family?

Doesn't matter - Jesus is considered a great prophet who God used to communicate truths of the Law.

I think its fiction, like the author said. Also he never intended for athiest zealots to get in an uproar.
