I lost my dad to a heart attack in June, and I'm looking for some songs about losing your dad to help me in the grieving process.

Any help is appreciated and thank you in advance.

I lost my dad to a heart attack four years ago. I'm sorry for your loss I know how difficult it is. Here are some songs that helped me. . .
Grey Street, by Dave Matthew's Band (Not really about losing a dad, but I could really relate to it the way I was feeling)
Dance with my Father, by Luther Vandross
To Where You Are, by Josh Groban
A Little More of My Father in Me, by Kieth Urban (I think)
There's more but those are the ones that really helped me. I hope these help.

Im sorry for your loss. I also lost my dad when he was shot in front of me a few years back. It is a really difficult thing to get over, losing your dad, but i just sort of cried a LOT, and it really helps if you get all the emotion out by physically expressing it like that. Father and son is a good song, i dont know who its by though. Just always remember that your dad loved you and he would be wanting you to have the best life you can without him. Good luck

I'm so sorry for your loss. I really am. I don't know what it's like to lose a parent yet and I really don't know what to say to help you except that I am sorry.
As for songs...umm..my ex used Tears in Heaven by Eric Clapton when his mom passed. Me personally, I drown my sorrows in a band called Mae. They're kind of an Emo band that sings about a few different subjects but I tend to get lost in the sound. Try that and I hope it helps you.
If I may offer it, try to get some sunshine on your face as often as possible. Cry on someone's shoulder at least once and laugh out loud when a memory of him pops into your head. Some people never meet their fathers, some fathers never create a bond with their child. As hard as it is, remember that you were loved by him and he by you and that is truly priceless. God Bless you.

There is a great song called 'This will be our year' by The Zombies. They used it in the Nike Father's Day commercial after Tiger Woods' dad died. I'm not saying that to lessen the importance of your own situation, but just to give you an idea of the song in case you've seen the commercial.

My song after my dad died was Bruce Hornsby's "The Show Goes On". Also his "Fortunate Son" (it's not the Dylan song). Or "I Dreamed A Dream" from Les Miserables.

I could scream, cry, and dance to let out all my emotions to those songs. They mean a lot to me through the lyrics.

I don't know how heavy of music you like, but the heavy metal band Skinlab talks a lot about not having a dad, but more in the sense of abandonment, not death. I'm sorry to hear about the loss. Best of Luck.

If you're a Green Day nut, Wake me up When September Ends. It's about Semptemer 11th and the lead singer's father dying...P.S., really sorry! Who wouldn't be?

Try the song "Goodbye" by Jagged Edge. Its not exactly about losing your dad. But it's about losing someone special and close to you and not wanting to say goodbye.
