Im looking for a software that can remove watermarks from photographs so i dont have to just blur and paint over them in paintshop, is there any out there that you guys can tell me of? I have a lot of my demo pictures, but i wanted to scan them for online use, without having to wait 6 weeks to get the real pictures, its a small watermark, but removing it would make them look a lot nicer :)

Hey Chuyito,

I would have said no, until I searched and found some sites that give information about how to remove a watermark. Check them out, you be the judge. Since there are articles describing how to make watermarks better so they cannot be easily removed, there must be methods of removing. Normally, water marks are indications that the image is protected by the law, so be careful. Don't try to make money off of someone's protected image.

[ed. note: the more opaque the watermark, the harder it is to “remove.”]

If you can get the EXACT color of the watermark, select and delete anything that color - perhaps there won't be anything noticeable (of that color) in the image that gets lost.

I was thinking of this, because there is (or used to be) a color you could stamp a document with where is was only slightly noticeable - but if you used a photo-copier to copy it - it would stand out extremely well (darker than the normal print even).
