I don't know if this is really the kindest thing that has ever happened to me. But it was unexpected. While driving I had to stop for a train. The car ahead of me, the lady on the passenger side jump out of her car and began to pick some wild lilac that were growing along the side of the road. Lilacs are my favourite flowers. Anyway, after she picked a bunch, she ran back to my car and handed me a big bouquet of these flowers. I thanked her and exchanged a few words. Then she just went back to her car and off we all went on our merry way.

I never expect anything from anyone, so when i asked my lecturer to give me feed back on my work i was pleased he did. What really touched me was that when i saw him after the term break he'd gone out of his way and done some research on my topic and gave me the findings. This was the last thing I expected and it meant alot. We are now good friends.

When I was in 6th Grade and was a geeky, lonely outcast that everyone picked on, there was one boy in my class who treated me with politeness and courtesy even when everyone else was mean. That was 40 years ago and I can still remember how much that meant to me at a time when felt so lonely and outcast that there were times I wanted to die. He didn't go out of his way for me, but he didn't join the others in harassing me and making my life miserable. That took courage.

When my dad died, this neighbor next door (a true sweet angel she is) whom I hardly knew, came over with dinner, dessert, and flower and a card. She astounded us. We were grieving, and sad, and here comes my neighbor helping us, and she sat with us the whole day and kept us company. She said any time we needed anything just come on over and ask. I thank God for such a sweet neighbor I could never forget.

When I was a school boy, my family ran into hard times. My music teacher arranged for me to have a violin, rent-free, so I could continue lessons.
