So I've been with this guy for 6 months and love him to death...I know he's the one I want to spend the rest of my life with, but I'm still in college right now. Is 6 months too soon to be getting engaged?

Well Ms. Chocolate in my humble opinion 6 months is a little early to become engaged. Why not wait until after you both have completed your studies and become settled at jobs. Who knows by the time college is over things could be a lot different.

You don't give your age, but if he really is the one, he will still be the one in a year. Getting engaged does not have any legal standing and is only a state of mind. If you are on the same page, wait a while since it can't hurt anything. What is also important is to avoid bringing any children into the equation. Keep it simple...just you and him.

Yes believe me it is. I have been with my boyfriend for six years and at one year I thought that we would be ready for marriage. I was wrong. Not that anything bad happened in our relationship but things change, people change as they grow and become educated. We are planning on getting married now, but if we did it then it would probably have failed. There is no need to hurry, you can still have a serious relationship for now and maybe marriage will be the right thing for you later. Finish college first. I am finishing University this year and we are getting married this summer. Things will work out if they are meant to be.
