With all the violance in Iraq one thing has been left out. God ( Allah) I thought both the groups were muslims. Does not their Holy Book forbid the killing of another Muslem? what happened to the peacefull religion we were told about after 9/11. I did not know the Islamics had 2 Allahs , 1 very peacefull , the other deadly. I am not condemming their religion but trying to understand it. I love my God as I am sure they love theirs. Is not God ( Allah) for everyone?

They believe in different leaders after Mohammed. This happens when people follow a man instead of God himself. Jesus never appointed a successor but gave his followers work to do to spread the good news that he taught them. Love among themselves was one of his commandments and that is why any true religion should not be killing others.

This is hate speech, spun to look like it is not. Your generalizing a whole faith based off of a few individuals. Although I find error in most religions, it is the peoples actions of those religions that should be put on trial. If a man does wrong then he should be held accountable not his religion.

It is not a matter of religion. It is a matter of power, each side wanting to run the government. The two groups are divided by religion-true. But it is for power, not religious issues.

Very few wars are fought for religion. They are fought for power and wealth, under the guise of religion.

They are not practicing their beliefs, although they may claim so anymore than someone here says that "God made them do it". All gods, that is any form thereof, whatever you may call it, if it started out as a true form, would have stated love as the number one and only true emotion, therefor, to practive anything other than that is un-godly.

This question is so lame..."what happened to a peaceful religion".....blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah. My suggestion to you is READ.
The difference between the Shiites and Sunnis is Mohammed's successor. They are fighting under the guise of religion to gain power....it's a power struggle. I'm not saying it's right, but it is what it is.
THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PEACEFUL RELIGIONS!!!
