Ignorance breeds fear, fear breeds anger, anger breeds violence. People don't like to be told they are wrong. Inside, the spirit knows the truth. There is a dichotomy occuring in the mind, creating confusion and fear. Its better, in my opinion, to think of such people as are still living in deception and fear as people who are spiritually ill. They need love and tolerance demonstrated towards them, not preached to them.
If we are truly doing the will of God, we won't usually be attacked, and if we are, God can, has, and will save us.
