My mother recently had a similar problem she solved it by taking photographs of the children in action, then packaging the Teepee into paper grocery sacks and making a tally of the cost per bag if it looked like 3 rolls she wrote down how much 3 rolls cost and stapled the price and the pictures to the sacks... She then took the bags to the parents of the children and said "Teepee costs alot so I have packaged this up for you, your children used it to decorate my yard lastnight.as you will see from these pictures.." She then smiled and left...

She never raised her voice, never accused anyone of anything she couldn't prove, she just set down for the parents the cost of the antic and the proof it was thier children doing it... She didnt put the parents on the defensive regarding thier children and she didn't give them a chance to make excuses or get riled up because she delivered the teepee and such in a matter of moments...

A few days later she received a note on her door from the children apologizing and explaining how thier parents had decided the teepee needed to be used by them beware of twigs and leaves....

She has since had no problems with the children.... Give it a try...

I agree call the police. But first tell the parents that the next time it happens you will and if they ignore your warning then do not feel like a bad neighbor for involving the police!

make it clear to the parents that if nothing is done on their part you will take legal actions. Videotaping them aint a bad idea but its illegal videotaping people without their consent (or maybe its not on your side of the planet - get informed). Once the parents are aware that actions will be taken they will do something about it and if they still want to be a bunch of ignorants then the cops are your only way out of this.

Whatever you do dont do anything that can be used and turned against you. - Good luck.

tell them so. Be nice about it of course though, you don't want to cut your ties with your neighbors. But tell them that you would really apreciate if they asked first just to make sure it was not at an inconvenient time.. and at 3 years old it kind of seems like they see you as a free baby sitter. . . Dont take it or else they will expect it to be ok every time. You have to set it straight early so there will be more understanding. good luck.

Contact the police, file a report and have the police talk to the neighbors. I know you're trying to be a good neighbor, but you were living there first, and this could possibly be the only way to get their attention.

Call the police. The little f*ckers are tresspassing, harrassing you, polluting, breaking curfew if there is one for minors and this is late at night, and damaging your property.

And the parents are being willfully negligent. Plus if you have a cleaning service take care of it then those neighbors of yours can be sued for the bill!

Ok. you've trying talking. Next option: video tape the action and if need be, contact the police. They can definately straighten this out if it's happening frequently and nothing's being done about it by the parents.

I agree. Take photos or video and call the police. If you've already talked to the parents and they are ignoring you then that would be the next step for me.

Call the cops because its litering and harrassment. Also call social services. Obviously there is a lack of parental guidance. They'll get it for neglect if nothing else.
