Am I the only one who cares about the Earth. In 50 years it'll be off the charts. Why do we do this knowing that the Earth, people and animals are dying from this?

To borrow a line from some movie I saw, individual people are smart, crowds are stupid.

As individuals, we know that polar icecaps melting and the seas dying off are bad things. As individuals, we wish people with money and power would come up with a solution. As individuals news stories of polar bears drowning in the ocean bum us out.

As a crowd, we crank up the furnaces because we forget where our sweaters are packed away, and we drive 20 miles to save a few bucks on Xmas gifts.

When the climate change causes famines, individuals will survive but crowds will starve to death. It almost seems fair.

First of all you had a typo. It's Global Warming. Yes, global warming is a HUGE issue that potentially causes an immediate threat to our and many other creatures on earth's existence. I want to assure you many people do care about the earth you can tell by talking to people and even in the news it says how countries are setting up regulations and plans to reduce pollution and carbon emissions. While many people are aware and trying to do something about it there are many who are uninformed. Even those who are informed don't always perform good habits like reducing, reusing, and recycling. We all as a human race need to improve together.
I'm not sure what you mean by "why do we do this" because it's not directly our fault that there is global warming. Humans do have a reasonable effect with all the emissions we release into the air and the pollution on the planet.

According to a NewsScientist magazine i read not too long ago the sun could save us from global warming. Scientists have discovered that the sun might go through cycles (of the sunspots on it) and might be nearing the end of a hotter cycle and will cool down; this would temporarily save us from global warming.
For now make sure you're doing your part to help the planet and encourage others to do so as well.
remember the 3 R's: reduce reuse recycle

the earth naturally will warm up because the sun's heat is trapped by the ozone layer, but we humans magnify this process, maybe that's why nature decided to open up a huge hole in the ozone layer over the poles instead of over Africa or North America.

I think your estimate is wrong. The end of the Earth will most likely not occur in 50 years.

you are not alone, I've been trying to convince people around me...and have put in several questions pushing the point, but I am afraid some people will go out of their way in a search for anything, no matter how ridiculous, to refute it.
