That you are not sure about- yet they say it is the truth- do you check the Bible to make sure? Or do you just believe what they say?

I always go to the Word. Because everyone can make a mistake, say something in error, quote something in error.

It is our responsibility to go directly to the Word, so that we will never be deceived by false prophets.

The Bible does not have all the answers! Gasp! It is true. Jesus taught by word of mouth not ink and quill. These word of mouth teachings were written down years later. Even in Gospel of John it claims that Jesus did and said many other things not in the Bible. Jesus left His Church to his disciples, not to a book! So I would first ask what the Tradition teaches before the Bible. After all people, the Bible as we know it was said to be authoritative by the Catholic/Orthodox faith. If you don't put Tradition first then how can you claim the Bible as we know it is the word of God when the Church said so!

2 timothy 3:16. All scriptue is inspired of God..

Man's word is just that... from a man, that is why we have som many different relegions that swear there's is the ONE. Man decides what the feel is the truth.

Me, personally, I look into everything with the Bible as my primary source...but we find many times that there "truths' are from pieces of other sources.

The Lord gave the Bible so that you may follow God's Word to 'cross reference' what man tells you. I always look up anything anyone tells me.

No, why would I check a big book of fables and ridiculous myths to see if something is true? Nothing written in the Bible pertains to reality.
