There are several answers to this question. The first being many cannot understand something they have never had to deal themselves. The second being the fact that other areas have suffered the same devastation and did not receive the same assistance that victims of Hurricane Rita did.
I for one am sorry that I could not be of more assistance. I am a single parent struggling with my own finances.

Because they haven't been in that situation before. They don't realize the conditions and even if they do "understand" what's wrong right now, they are removed. My advice to you, don't dwell on the people who tell you you are taking advantage of their giving. Most likely, if they are telling you that, they are giving to make themselves feel like a better person, not to primarily just to help you. Just know that some of us are still pulling for you.

Some people are just selfish...don't let them get to you. They forget so easily about the hardships that people faced in that region....even though the images from that period of time - especially Katrina - aer burned into our minds forever. People starving to death, homeless, dehydrating on the street...for the world to see via live TV. I understand your pain and your plight. You survived a hurricane, so don't let these petty people affect you.

Don't worry, what goes around comes around. Some day they'll find themselves in a similar situation. Sorry you're having such a hard time. I hope things get better for you soon.

Because some are just conceited jerks who can't see through their own self-centeredness or pride. Ignore them and stick with the intelligent people.
Best of luck to you and your family!!

Hold your piece and let the Lord fight the battle. Began to pray, fast, and consecrate. Pay your tithes & offering. Trust in the Lord, b/c he is more than able to work it out.
