I've noticed that for the past year, not once have I actually cried. I'm usually not the depressed kind of girl, but I feel like whenever I have the need to cry, tears just don't come out. I used to be able to cry, but nowadays the tears just won't make an appearance. Is this a medical condition?

Without a physical exam who can say if this is a medical condition or not? If it bothers you, see your health care provider who is the best one to determine the cause.

I'm not a psychologist so this is a totally wild guess, but I'd think you might be repressing some problem which you're afraid to confront. The inability to actually cry suggests a fear of losing control of your emotions which are attached to the issue.

But what do I know? A professional counselor could probably help you more. In any event, good luck and be well.

My 11 year old sister had blocked tear ducts caused by dandruff in her eyelashes. She couldn't cry or even moisten her eyeballs when she blinked! She had to carefully wash her lashes with Head and Shoulders until the dandruff went away, and she had to put medicated drops in her eyes. This started in June and just went away last month! I would check with your doctor. You don't want to mess around when it comes to your vision!

It happens, it's a kind of detachment, try reading a good book or some poetry and seeing if you can cry tears unrelated to your situation.
