Click on your state and follow the directions for a search...
At the same time remember not all offenders listed are pedophiles... While the listings can be helpful don't use it as a witch hunt tool... Not all sex offenders listed are looking for a victim some are people caught up in a system not designed to list pedophiles in a seperate catagory... A boy who turns 18 and has consentual sex with his girlfriend who is 17 and ends up charges with rape/statutory rape etc. is in a far different catagory than a pedophile but he is found on the same list because he is technically a sex offender...
Watching our children and who they interact with is good but don't turn it into a witch hunt, the charges listed don't tell you much...

I am a parent, so no offense intended by my response.
All parents need to be aware of our children and all of us need to be keeping an eye out for all types of crime, including this. Good community is probably a great preventative measure.
Keep in mind that the sex offenders registries often includes all manner of sex related offenses, including those that do not involve children.
Unfortunately, the registry is may lead you to look in the wrong direction. Most cases of sexual abuse of children are from someone they know including sibling, babysitter, parent, relative, teacher, priest, etc. This is why we should all be aware of our children at all times.
"Children who are isolated from others are at greater risk of being sexually abused." Paying attention and giving children a sense of self worth, safety and right/wrong may be the best course of action.
I included a few random links below if anyone is interested on reading up more.

Ask your local police for that info. The lists on line are woefully incomplete.
For example: I have a realtor friend who said she had just sold a house that was across the street from a sex offender. I told her I had checked online and there was no such person there. When she showed me his house. It included a sign on it from the police department warning against harassing this person.

You should be able to put the words of registered sex offenders and the name of the state that you live in your google search and it should pop up for you.
