You can omit it...but you really need something to put in it's place like almond extract. It will taste a bit different, but still delicious! You could also add a liquor or something like rum extract.

Omitting it could get tricky!
Try googling the question and it will give you web sites to go to.
Maybe just "substitutes for vanilla".

Oh - I just looked ; )
Almond extract, rum, amaretto, Grand Marnier, framboise, or any of dozens of other extracts, essences, brandies, or liqueurs could stand in for vanilla in certain recipes — accentuating and blending flavors. But whereas vanilla is neutral and works in almost any sweet recipe, most of the other possible flavorings have a signature flavor of their own, and you’ll want to be sure the one you choose is compatible with what you’re cooking.

You can omit it, but they just won't be as flavorful. Maybe you have some other sort of extract in your cupboard, or a little spoonful of kahlua or vanilla rum for flavor. Just some suggestions.

Do you have any corn syrup? Corn syrup usually has vanilla in it. You could use a few tablespoons to replace an equal amount of the sugar.

Do you have any of the flavored creamers in your fridge? Almost any of them would work, but you should add about 2 tablespoons, so use a little less milk.

Don't use it. It won't affect anything. Vanilla is just a flavor additive.
