I work for a photography doing some editing work. Right now we are changing our style a little bit and I wonder if someone could help me figure something out. I have a customer who wants "edgy" photos. We did the shoot, they look great but now I dont know what to do with them...help??

Hmm, you could do a photomanip... this works well with Adobe photoshop.

Use the blur setting with a 20px brush to blend the skin and clothes (don't blend the edges of any features), use the blur on 50px to blur the hair, in the direction of the hair.

In a second layer, go over all the outlines with a thin brown brush.

You can set a few different lighting levels, like fill a new level with a pale pink and set the layer style to "soft light" or "hard light"... you can do two or so of these, I find it works best with one in a pale pink and one in a light brown, for caucasian skin tone... play around with them 'till you're happy with it.

Yeah. Just a suggestion, of course. Unfortunately, the only pictures I have of any photos I've done in this style are on my other computer which doesn't have internet access... otherwise I'd post an example!

If the source material wasn't "shot edgy" (daring angles and lighting), you're likely to wind up with a bunch of overworked pictures that look gimmicky if you just try to tack on a bunch of filters at this point. I hope you have their check in the bank already.

Put a gun to their head and say "Pay!". Then smile and ask if that was edgy enough...

What to do with them? How 'bout whatever the client wants?
