The Westboro Baptist Church of Topeka, Kansas pickets military funerals claiming that God is punish the military for letting gays in the military. They call this a "picketing ministry." (www.godhatesfags.com)
We should all unite against these people! Christian & athiest alike!
Even the conservative Christians should protest them because they go way beyond just believing homosexuality is a sin. They preach hatred. Vile, seething hatred. And they are giving Christianity a black eye!

Hear hear!! I think that is increduably shameful and makes me angry and that is generally not that easy. I believe in free speech but that is just .... words fail me!!!

They're a bit far from where I live but they are the biggest fascists of practically all the religious fanatics anywhere on earth. Any just god would give them rickets or genital boils just so the rest of us could have a laugh at them. Vile scum from every point of view. I'll post some tomatoes for you to take along.

I would not stoop to their level. Some churches picket and protest pagan rituals and that is just plain wrong. We have freedom of religion here in this country and I do not beleive in picketing any church for any reason. That to me is just plain tacky.

I agree that they are basically scum, but the problem with a counter-picket is that it gives them exactly what they want the most, which is publicity.
