How does the Swiss Guard compare to the US Secret Service? Considering the talks of violence toward the pope lately, and the constant talk of violence toward Bush, I thought this question was appropriate.

I would guess that the President has a bigger force, since he can one up the Pope by having Air Force One, and being able to to clear air space and air travel during trips here and abroad.

As to which is better, it may be a draw. Both are honor driven, both are trained well. There might be an edge for the Pope however, since the Swiss Guard may also have a personal religious sense of duty.

helping McCain. I do imagine he will pull it off, yet absolutely rather. i imagine various of Obama supporters will lose their nerve or not take position to vote. I thoroughly admit that's going to be very close and Obama's possibilities are intense real. it must be stupid for both area to imagine they have it contained in the bag.

Depends...

A police office in Hawaii was killed just yesterday while escorting GW's caravan on his police motorcycle. I would be curious as to which one was trained better.

Size isn't always a factor :)

asking about a private force is silly, they are both government controlled security forces (yes, the vatican is a government) so the little halberdiers and the little secret service men are not "private". Now if you meant "personal", thats a different question.
