YES, YES, YES!
it is one of the highest allergens out there, and WHY dog food companies use it in their food so much is beyond me. Also, it has a high glycemic index and is really bad for blood glucose level stabilization.
If your dog is showing skin conditions such as severe flaking, hot spots, balding, severe itching, or other signs such as vomiting, diarrhea, etc. I would take it to the vet right away to help determine what is causing it. If it is allergies, try an elimination diet such as wellness salmon and sweet potato or royal canin sensitive diet. Many of the "lamb and rice" formulas have corn as a filler so be careful and read labels!! I have 2 corn allergic dogs (Bichon and a lab) Royal canin has been a god send! Blessings- bb

Yes, dogs can be allergic to most anything! Alot of dogs with allergies have problems with dog food that has corn as an ingredient. So, be sure to check the ingredients if you are worried your dog is allergic to corn.

Yes, any dog can be. Corn is actually one of the most common food allergens. It is a cheap filler that companies use to bulk up a food and provides the dog no nutritional value.

If you want your dog to be healthy, look for a food that does not contain corn, wheat, beet pulp, by-products, 'animal' or 'meat' ingredients, chemical preservatives (BHA/BHT, ethoxyquin), salt, flours, etc.

High quality foods include Innova, Wellness, Evolve, Canidae, Fromm, Solid Gold, Merrick, Eagle Pack Holistic, Wysong, etc.

Foods like Science Diet, Eukanuba, Iams, Purina, Pedigree, Walthams, Royal Canin, Technical, and so on are promoted as healthy but are actually quite disgusting if you take the time to look at the ingredients.

Good luck and get away from corn based foods.

A dog is just like a person. They have allergic reactions to certain things as we do. I for one am highly allergic to corn as to the entire vegetable family it comes from. First of all, what has lead you to this assumption that your dog may be allergic?

Yes, a lab can be allergic to corn. You can have your dog tested by taking a blood test and have it checked to determine if it is allergic to corn.

Yes. The most dog food allergies are caused by corn starch, which is used for artificial colouring, which probably means, the corn itself can be cause for an allergy.
Same goes for soy and wheat, all parts of 90% of dog food.
If your dog is allergic to dog food in general, try Purina One For Sensitive Systems. It literally saved my dog's life. It contains no corn starch, soy and very little wheat.

No animal or human can fully digest corn. The possibility of it being allergic to it ..well...maybe. But the more reasonable answer is that it is indigestible. Look for Wheat, not corn products.

Corn isn't really all that good for dogs anyway. So it really doesn't matter, you shouldn't be feeding it corn.

Be careful about dog foods. A lot of brands have corn in the first few ingredients. If you think your dog is reacting to this switch it to a better brand of food with no corn.
