The Bible says the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground. Then He breathed into him the breath of life.
Now whether that is to be taken literally is something biblical scholars have debated for years. The point is not how likely one scenario is over the other or whether either can be proven. Both the theory of evolution and the theory of creation require a certain amount of faith. For me, it takes a lot more faith to believe that all creatures on the earth came from the same single-cell in some primordial goo than to believe that God created each creature with whatever raw materials were available.

Evolution states that people evolved from other species, which at some point would have come from essentially dirt.
Yes, I believe that God created man from dirt or something metaphorically referred to by dirt. I feel that this is likely, because I trust God who said he did it. If you truly believe that God can do anything, you should never be surprised by something that God says he can do.
I have no religious problem with evolution. God said he made man. He wasn't specific as to how. He may have used evolution. From a scientific standpoint; however, I do have issues with evolution. It is an unlikely explanation which violates many basic principles. If you suggest; however, that God guided evolution, I have no problem with that due to the previously mentioned all-powerful thing.

First off, the Bible is not a science text nor a history book. It is a book that teaches truth about God! Like, God created all. God took His time rather than all at once. And, God made humans last as the culmination of creation. There, now that doesn't mean evolution didn't happen. We have no clue what happened, we only know that God created us. Even science agrees! The Big Bang teaches that creation came from nothing! How can something be created out of nothing? God. Also, we were not created from the dirt. We were created from the dust! Big difference. All the animals were made from the dirt, they are tied to the earth. We are of the same substance of the earth but are not tied to it. As dust can blow away!

I believe that man was made from dirt as the bible says and that man may have evolved under a God-directed plan but not that we used to be fish or tadpoles. Maybe from cro-magnon to a more modern form. Did it say what Jacob and Esau looked like? Did it say that Adam was 5'9" with medium features? He could have looked like a caveman. European art and depictions show him looking like a confused Greek man. Theres nothing to support that view. In addition our opinions are only based on what we have found so we may be missing many pieces of the puzzle. We do know know ALL of the stages of God-directed human evolution. They have 15 fossils of human beings so now scientists can pinpoint everything? NO. of course not. Much like they can count all of the stars and planets in our closest galaxy. They know it's there but know nothing about it. We are barely scraping the surface.

Dirt... I hardly think that is the belief of most Christians. Christians believe in the Creator who used dirt to create us. Christians believe that we came from God, and dirt was just an ingredient. Why do you pose your question in a way that seems to insult the Christian faith? You do realize that God does exist, don't you? One can believe in evolution, and one can believe in Creation- but only one is correct. If God exists, then who do you think is right?

Technically both Christians and atheistic scientist believe this. To say that man came from dirty is the same as saying man came from very simple elements. Scientist also believe that the beginning of life was very simple elements coming together

I believe that God formed man out of the earth- much like evolutionist believe that life was created out of primordial ooze. So what's the difference? The difference is the evolutionist all claim everything back to the big bang and never can answer what happened before that- or where that mass of rock and gas came from. We can-it's God. You got question-we got answers- and you can know the answers as well.

Is that something original?
The fruits and vegetables that we eat, that form the substance of our bodies, derive their substance from the soil (the dirt).
Even the animal or animal products that we eat, adding to our physical being, derive their substance from plant life, that again derives their substance from the soil.
So anything in our bodies ultimately comes from the soil.
That is something that we learned in grade school.
I don't see the logical sense in asking if that is more likely than evolution.
Evolution is an entirely different subject.

Of course man was created by God out of the "dust of the ground" and woman was taken from man... But both were created by God
GENESIS1:26
And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
GENESIS 2:7
And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
GENESIS 2:21-24
And the Lord God casue a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept. And he took one of his ribs, and closed the flesh instead thereof; And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from the man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man. And Adam said "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh: she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of man".
That pretty much sums it all up.... good day maam and may God Bless You Always...
