i believe men are much better in kitchens.
thats why most restaurants or professional food establishments, usually the men are the majority and usually the head chef as well. it's a tough industry to begin with, i think men just handle the overally job better in a professional setting.

I don't agree that men are necessarily more skilled at being chefs, there are simply more of them. I think that might have to do with the fact that women still do most of the day to day cooking for families and perhaps feel that they don't want to bother making a career out of what they might feel is a duty or chore, however, even though there are fewer of them, some female chefs are quite esteemed. The late Julia Childs is an example, Cat Cora, etc. It is true enough that men usually have superior muscular strength and therefore excel at jobs that require that. I think women and men are equally good in a lot of the things that aren't necessarily physically biased towards one or the other.

Your arguement is valid in some ways, but my answer to your question is still "FALSE". My position:
Men and women ARE fundamentally different, and its true that those differences are often overlooked in modern america for reasons of political and social correctness.
Men have more testosterone, for instance, causing them to be more competitive and agressive in some circumstances. Men and women also have very different treatment when they are growing up- men are supposed to have a profession, while women are supposed to assume "support" roles.
This said, professional women are EVERY bit as competent as men are. That inclues the soldiers, hair stylists, and chefs that you mentioned specifically, and every other profession I am aware of. When I was studying the culinary arts in college, just short of half the students in the program were women.
There are certainly more men at the top of the Food Food Chain, but that's probably more due to social dynamics than the quality of their work. Being an expert chef requires not only precise knowledge and flawless technique, but more importantly it demands creativity- and that is not a gender biassed trait.

Being a professional chef I have found that women are as good as men in the kitchen. It seems that the past attitude that women who work in restaurant kitchens could only do the salad and dessert area is in the rear view mirror. Both of my sous chefs are women and are doing a better job at the position than most of the guys I hired in the past.

hi there; i feel that there is great chefs in both men and woman..Some people may think that men are more skilled than woman and some woman are more than men..It really depends on where that person goes to college/Cooking school..There are some very fine schools in Paris that a lot of woman and men have gone too and have turned out the most finest chefs in both men and woman...So its a matter of opinion from who you ask the question...Why don't you watch the Food net work channel.

False - It isn't a matter of gender. Both men and women are equally proficient in the kitchen. Training and having an artistic eye make a big difference.

Skill comes with experience not as a result of gender. Talent is enhanced with skill. I do not believe one sex is better overall than another. And, if it tastes yummy, who cares who cooked it?
