My skin became like solid hard & i began to have ulcers breaking out on the ends of my fingers . That is when I was diagnosed.I get very tired out & now have not much energy to be able to sometimes make it thru the day.To exercise makes me very tired out , but now I am beginning to not be able to control the weight gain. I have great water retention , which I take medicines for ,& as we all do know , there is always side effects to every thing .. But if you need it to keep the skin pliable , what do you do ..My skin has become streached ,My hands do not look nice as I have raynauds disease also & the fingers itself will crack open like a cooked hot dog when the cold air hits them..Is there anyone who can relate to my problem. It is working in my organs now , but the liver & kidneys are still working properly , Thank Goodness for that.. Just wondering if anyone else is suffering with this painful disease & what you might be doing about it .I visit my rheumatoligist regularly ...

One of my dearest friends suffered from this disease, so I know what you are talking about. She took every known research program available and on an incredible amount of "try this" medicines. There are two things that will help you greatly before it takes over your organs. The first is diet, eat plenty of vegetables especially vegetable soups without meat. Also drink at least one or two 8 oz. glasses of 100% apple juice every day to help rid your body of any toxins. My friend was told not to eat any acidic food such as tomatoes or pasta sauces. She did stay away from these as they would make her sick. When she did eat pasta she ate it with an alfreda sauce as opposed to a tomato based sauce. This did not make her sick.

She started a support group and wrote many articles about this disease. I will get the info. from her husband. I hope that you will give an update later and I will be more than happy to share any more information with you that I can acquire.

Read "The Miracle of MSM" by Drs Jacob and Lawrence pg 209-214 for a supplement that may help. See also pg 356 of Dr Atkins' Vita-nutrient Solution for his recommendations. Good luck. Hope this helps.
