Hi Guys,

Any pilots or controlers or anyone in the aviation buisness can tell me if what I would like to do is legal or not.

A lot of you guys in this site know I am a genuine guy, I am Scottish but live in Essex England, I suffer from multiple disabilities, I love watching aircraft inflight and at airports.

Now I am at home a lot now as I am very tired with my kidney failures treatment 3 times a week.

I want to know if it is legal to search and find a web site and to watch aircraft navigating around the UK. Aircraft flying to and from All Londons airports fly virtually over my house, my home town where I live in Essex has a navigation beacon where a lot of aircraft passing over the UK pass straight over.

In the summertime I sit outside my front garden watching all the planes, I love monotoring them with my radio and I have the aviation map of my area.

Is it possible and legal to watch / monitor flights in and around the UK and my area.

Jimmy From Essex

Its perfectly legal to watch aircraft movements. Police officers here in the US often ask us to stop, without providing an explanation, or law, describing that we can't.

Keep on watching and enjoying the wonderful world of aviation!

If you're not threatening any flight or operation by your monitoring, there is no cause for concern. Enjoy your hobby while you can.
