My dog is 4 years old. She was fixed when she was a puppy. Lately she tries to hump me 2 to 3 times a day. Why is she doing this? I thought her being neutered (sp?) this shouldn't be happening.
What should I do when she tries to do this to me?
thanks for any help anone can give me.

Do not listen to GitEmGang. Do not abuse your animal!! When she tries this, say "no" firmly and push her away. If you do that every time she will learn not to do it.

She does it because she can. Make her stop doing it. As soon as she even starts to do it, stop her. Be consistent. She will lose the habit. Pull her off of you and down to the ground while saying NO, firmly. Then let her go. Do the same thing every single time she even attempts to do it. That should stop her habit quickly.
If she tries again after some time, do the same thing. Neutering or spaying may lessen this behavior but does not stop it. Some say it happens because the dog gets excited or because it's a dominance issue. I say, I don't care WHY it happens, it's a habit I don't want and I don't allow.
Don't worry, it's a behavior you can stop.

Dogs show dominance by "mounting" other dogs (or owners) It is their way of establishing who is the boss (Alpha *****). Doesn't matter if she's neutered.

The fastest way to fix this problem is not very pleasing to most owners. What you have to do is use the dogs method to show her that YOU are the boss, and will not tolerate her trying to become dominant. Don't worry, you don't have to make obscene motions or anything. You just have to place your weight on your dog while holding her still so she can't squirm away. Don't lean hard enough to hurt her, just enough so she gets the point. She may not be happy about it, but IT WILL WORK.

She's most likely trying to be dominant or show her dominance over you. Take and do the same thing back to her, but w/out the humping of course..lol. Just take and gently lay her to the floor using your body until she quits squirming. This shows her that you are the alpha female in the group. But one good thing is she recognizes you as part of her pack.

she is trying to exert her dominance over you. Dogs are pack animals and do this to each other to express who is the alpha dog. If anything in your home has changed recently she may be trying to reestablish herself as top dog.

she is just trying to show dominance towards u thats all. u just have to show her whose boss cus she thinks she is. dont give her whatever she wants all the time cus doing that is telling her that she is in control and thats probably why she does that.

My female spayed dog does the same thing, specifically to my arm. However, I am not sure why. But I believe it may be an attempt for her to be dominant over you. With animals, mounting can be an attempt to gain dominance, not just have sex with you.
