I cannot really afford to buy the kids anything for christmas this year. Everthing that can go wrong has and financially. Between car repairs and disconnect notices I had no other choice. They are 9, 8 and 2. how can I tell them I tried but sorry.

Spend some extra time with the kids and enjoy making some popcorn and cranberries on a string. Make a few ornaments out of scraps of things you have in the house and talk about the real meaning of Christmas. The kids may handle it better than you think. If gifts are a real issue then contact the Salvation Army or a local church. Most organizations like those are there for people in their time of need.

Dont do that just find a local food pantry that gives away toys and stuff or ask people from churches to donate, salvation army would help also, there are many fundraiser out there that if you sell their products you get money in return I did one and I got $25 for selling only 10 of their items. Also go to local resturants and ask if you can put a bucket in the restraunt to try and collect donations for your children so they can have a descent chrismas.

-----I hope that helped out a bunch

I would seriously look into church programs in your area that would love to help you. You will need to tell your kids the truth, that there will not be much, but something. Then try to do something special that is free: ice skating, sledding, drive thru to see Christmas lights, have a candlelight special dinner with what you have, etc. Try to not dwell on the fact that you dont have money, try to stay positive and do what you can. Your kids will understand, and still love you. :) Good luck.

Instead of having your friends and family buy you gifts, ask them to please sponsor a present from Santa. A mother has to sacrifice sometimes and it will bring you more joy to see your kids open something then to get another christmas mug from aunt hilda.
