South America was invaded, conquered, and decimated.

Those who remained alive were forced to become Catholics.

How does it feel to know this?

Do you know any Catholics from South America whose ancestors were not forcefully converted?

Have you ever heard of a Jew that was forcefully converted to Judaism?

Yup, you got it, homey!

And those same conquistadores and their ilk circumnavigated the globe and hit the Philippines, too! Same-o, same-o.

Thus, in the process, the Manila-Acapulco Galleon trade began as they sacked, raped and pillaged all the natural resources of these countries FIVE CENTURIES AGO[!] and they brought back the treasures to Europe and Rome.

But, as an aside, it never ceases to amaze me how some of their 'faithful' UP TO NOW continue to be IN DENIAL and keep on protecting all the atrocities perpetrated by the Mother Church since the start of the Crusades. They don't realize that the Church's own HISTORY has nothing to do with FAITH at all!

Yet somehow they prefer to remain in darkness... until they open their eyes and begin to see.

Peace be with you!

I think you facts are out of whack,

How many "Ancestors" do you know?

Most of south America was converted because of the Miracle at Guadalupe, and because the Catholics started Missions helping the people farm and have better lives.

God Bless you!

PS. You might check into how hard it is to become Catholic now, it takes about 8 months. It is this way so that when people join, it is by their own free will and not a quick whim.

Now, people may point out that Christians have at times resorted to violence wrongly, including the Crusades and the Spanish Inquisition. But the comparison is off. First, Christ Himself NEVER advocated forced conversion and slaughter of unbelievers. Muhammad not only advocated it, but personally cooperated in it. Second, in the case of the Crusades we have to be careful not to buy all of the anti-Catholic propaganda out there. Do you know why Christians fought the Crusades? Because Muslims FIRST forcefully took over Christian lands and persecuted the Christians living there, and controlled Christian holy sites.

It is true that some Crusaders did some despicable things in a spiteful, vengeful way. But the Church never condoned, let alone ordered, these excesses. And as for the Inquisition, if it was as bad as some anti-Catholics claim, it is odd that there are records of people requesting transfers of their cases to the Inquisition from the secular Spanish courts! No doubt, some horrid things occurred, but that was the unfortunate result of the weaknesses and sin of individuals, not the official teaching of the Church.

Myself, I'm South American and I have Portuguese blood. One third of South Americans are white. If you think all South American are native americans than you are very ignorant. Sorry to say that.

By the way! Have you ever heard about the Missions founded by the jesuits together with the Guarani indians?

at the same time as the Spaniards explored the hot international, they presented alongside monks. alongside the way, they switched over lots of the community community. also, a number of the explorers stayed in the back of and married natives. Blessed Junperro Serra is an party. He turned right into a Franciscan priest who traveled the west coast of the u . s .. He all started little missions, each and every an afternoon's experience with the help of foot aside.....and named them after saints San Francisco Santa Ana San Diego San Rafael ...you get the perception. It became the saem ingredient with the help of the Americas. The Spanish were between the first to hit upon and colonize, and they presented their Catholic faith with them.
