Certainly not a turn-off. Intimidating maybe, but that's not the same thing.

Well to me, a "body builder type" would be a turn-off but what do you mean by strong? Some people (both men and women) who say they are "strong" and "to the point" are actually blunt and rude. One thing is being assertive and confident, another thing is being rude.
I like a woman who is independent and self-reliant as you mentioned and also intelligent but at the same time has not "lost her femininity" (not aggressive and pushy).

The men who have put negative comments on here about strong women are so full of crap ! There is nothing wrong with women who are independant and know what they want out of life. It is your problem if you are turned off by that- do u like to control your women then? thats why you probably go for the women that like to be treated like a doormat.

Well, it depends on the guy. For me (even if I'm a girl), it shouldn't be a point of argument. But to answer your question, it's not a turn-off. It only proves that the girl is strong and that she can cope up with various situations. Guys shouldn't be turned off by this attribute since it is a point where that girl can even help them in times when they're at the lowest point.

A man who's "put off" by a strong, independent woman is an insecure twit who feels threatened by that kind of woman, and the only way he can make himself feel powerful is by surrounding himself with weak individuals. Any many who does that is a loser.

I don't think so. Personally, I think a strong woman(independent & self reliant) is really sexy. XD I like someone who can match my wits. As long as she doesn't go too far on it. When I say far, as long as she doesn't become too pompous about it.

to some men, its a turn off because they cant stand the idea of having an independent woman who really dont need a guy to do certain things for them

Always been a turn on for me. I tend to gravitate towards strong independent women.

Well, a few guys have told me I'm too aggressive recently just because I didn't back down in arguments. However, others say that prefer it when a girl doesn't just give into whatever they say. So I'd say yes for some guys, especially insecure ones, but no for others.
