Hi guys, we are ordering my Chihuahua a Buddy Belt harness for Christmas. I have heard from many people that they are great for small dogs. My Chihuahua has had problems with walking with collars, the make him cough and hack on our walks. The Buddy Belt puts the pressure on the chest, not the neck of the dog. I have also read that it is vet recommended. But, I was wondering, do any of you use the Buddy Belt on your dog??? I thought I would get some opinions...Thanks!

Yes, I use a Buddy Belt for my chihuahua. I really like it and it goes on easily. I've always used a harness because chihuahua's have delicate trachea's, so collars aren't a good idea. Another good harness is Puppia brand. I vary them up depending on what's he's wearing. I'm sure you'll like it.

I use a harness for my Chihuahua and I would definitely recommend one. There is less pressure on the neck and when you need to pull on him it won't pull on the neck with the harness vs. a collar. Also, I've had to pull him straight up to me when a larger dog has come at us while walking and with the harness on it supports his entire body - otherwise I would be ripping at his neck and choking him. My Chihuahua doesn't mind the harness on at all, not that he does a collar either, but since he doesn't mind either it's easier to choose the harness. Hope your Chihuahua has a Merry Christmas, and you as well.

Halters of all sorts are great for smaller dogs and dogs that are prone to choking. I'm sure you'll love your new harness and so will your friend.
