bmac is absolutely correct. You can go into seizures, which could be fatal, during withdrawal and the symptoms can last for days, not just hours. You can also have delirium tremens, which is shakes and hallucinations. This can last up to 5 days and can be fatal as well.
GET YOURSELF TO A HOSPITAL AND INTO A DETOX WARD IF POSSIBLE!!!!!!!
If there are no vacancies in a detox ward or you can't afford it, at the very least, get a friend to stay with you, so there will be someone to call for help if needed.
Yes, call the AA hotline....it works!!!
Best of luck to you.

If its been one week since your last drink then I don't think you will experience any physical symptoms. By the way, these might include, heavy sweating, hands shaking, anxiety attacks, and DT's. For a while when I stopped drinking I thought I could see mice or rats out of the corner of my eye. When I turned my head there was nothing there. Now that you have stopped you might think about getting a 'relaxation tape' to help you unwind. Or join a yoga class. The stresses of life are still there and you'll need a way to help you cope with them. You could also attend a few meetings of AA to see if they might help. Congratulations! You've made a decision that will change your life for the better.

you don't mention the amount that you have been drinking daily, but I STRONGLY advise you get yourself to an emergency room. You could go into shock or start having DTs without assistance. You may be at the stage where you need chemical assistance (Librium, etc)
I already don't like the way the heart increase sounds.
Call a cab, get to the hospital.

It depends on the level of alcohol you drank. Your body has to completely detox before the symptoms will go away.

Drink A LOT of water, this will help cleanse your system. You may want to go to the doctor and ask for some anti-anxiety meds, like ativan, to ease the anxiety while you are going through this.

Good luck to you!! You are doing the right thing, stick with it!!!

Get some tables from your Doctor and tell him why you need them, that should do the trick, but the question you should be asking is"Why am i drinking vodka everyday".

be ready for a couple of crappy days, get yourself checked by a doctor to be on the safe side. your going to be lying on the sofa ,feeling sick and not eating. make sure you drink plenty of water. your going to feel like puking make sure you have fluids in your stomach to bring up. you might have this for 3 days. i had my fill of drink binging and feel a lot better for stopping.
