I think it's happened to all of us at some point in our youths.

What was the reason mommy/daddy/aunty/grandma/etc. forced you to get a new look?

Thought it'd look cute?

As a punishment?

Let's hear what you guys have to say on the subject!

I was forced by my aunt to get my hair cut for my cousin's wedding. She didn't believe that my hair was meant to be worn in a certian style and she thought it just looked scruffy. (Short-ish, chin length bangs, almost but not quite a wedge style cut with chunky layers you pull forward, I had it before it was a style you saw everywhere)

I still hate her to this day.

As most when you are growing up .. your parents pay for your hair to be cut,, so my hair was very long until I was 8yr then my mother decided for some strange reason to have my hair cut and permed,,why ?? do not know because it was already curly> the saga continued , with the reasoning that as long as they paid for my hair cuts ,,they wanted it cut. When I was in high school my dad did not like bangs so one night he took them and cut them off.. how traumatic that was.. he did the same to my brothers,, when my kids were little he wanted to trim my sons hair,, he ran!!!! .. and get this he9my dad) has long hair and refuses to cut it..

Mom always cut all 3 of us girls hair really short like a boys. Don't know what her motives were. Maybe so she wouldn't have to spend time curling it. We all hated it and when we got older we all have long hair. I haven't even had a haircut since 1995.

Mom and dad force you to do most of those stuff because of mainly to reasons. One is because they are living their life through. Like they try to make you look like what they wanted to look like as child/teenager. Another is that they don't want you to embarrass them in public in or anywhere ales.

Mom usually made my hair so pretty and I would agree. But one time, she wanted me to get a bobbed hairstyle and I refused it. She was okay with my preference though.

my parents thought that long hair(by their stadards it's when it gets to the nose or something in that area) is a sign or effemininity and rebelion.
