Does anyone know of any organization that will provide a computor for a homebound, disabled, 61 yr old woman ? I live in a rural area and a computor would help me stay in touch with family and function as a source of information and entertainment for me.

Try the Salvation Army. If they cant provide one free they can sell you one really cheap. Good Luck.

You probably have a government program called Active Re-entry. They help the handicap. They would be listed as Associated Governments. The school board may have some computers. Check with your state Human Services. I wish I knew the state you live in. The senior citizen's center. They probably have volunteer's that would be glad to help you. Put an add in your local newspaper. Hope this is helpful. I am home bound and the computer is my contact with the outside world.

A good place to pick up a computer inexpensively is at a Thrift Store. Alot of times people upgrade their computer and drop the old one off at the thrift store - even though its still a fairly functional machine.

The kind of PC you find will most likely be perfect for things like e-mail and browsing the internet - but thats about it!
