Aren't you sweet! I would want a day at the spa if I had just given birth (maybe my husband will read this..). You could make a little gift basket and put the gift certificate and a few cute little sentimental things in it. Maybe a framed pic of your newly expanded family?

I think the best gift is just to be a sweet, supportive and loving husband. Assuming you already are (and, assuming you already help out LOTS with the other kids) then here are some other ideas: A nanny/housekeeper for a month (to help keep the home clean/watch the other kids so your wife can focus on the newborn) A personal trainer, although she may be offended... Diamond tennis bracelet A personal chef for a few weeks/month to come in and cook dinner Boob lift/tummy tuck (of course, that idea would have to come from HER not you) In-home masseuse treatments (twice a week for a couple months) I'm all for expensive gifts, bring it on! But they are absolutely meaningless unless you are a hands-on dad that gives her lots of emotional support and comfort. She will need that more than anything else.

My husband gave me a scrapbook and it's something I use regularly to keep up with her stages and something she will have forever. If she has never scrapbooked before maybe even a kit to get her started, it's never too late. A good hobby and something that will stay in the family forever! Or, a gift certificate that does not expire to a nearby spa with an extra note that says whenever she needs a break for just some "me" time she can use that and you will keep the kids no complaints! Congrats on the new one! Hope this helps!

RE:
Gift for Wife? Birth of our Second Child...?
What is a creative, thoughtful gift for my wife for the birth of our second child. She's a great mom, wife, and best friend.
Serious answers please. I'm looking for something creative. It doesn't necessarily have to be expensive...

A gift certificate to a spa.. so she can have some time for herself. A massage, manicure, pedicure .. etc..
or a nice piece of jewelry something to represent both children.
Good Luck and Congrats on the new baby :)

Does she have a bracelet that is personalized with the baby's name on it? Mothers love these bracelets, I know I absolutely love mine. If she already has one find a sneaky way to get the bracelet & take it to add the new baby on to it. If she doesn't already have one go get her one with both children's names on it. Of course for this gift you might have to wait until you know for sure the sex of the baby & have decided on a name if you haven't already.
Another idea, you could create a coupon book. You can make coupons like "Take an hour to pamper yourself with a hot bath filled with bubbles & candlelight." or "Turn in this coupon for one night of no cooking or cleaning" (you could cook dinner & do the dishes & let her relax that night. There are several little things like this that you can make into coupons. Think of 10 or 15 things to make into coupons & make it into a little book. It is very thoughtful, creative, & very personalized. She will love it, and depending on how old your first baby is get him/her to help pick out what goes on the coupons & help make it.
Good luck & congrats on the new baby.

My daughter is 14 months old, and I remembr how tired I was in the beginning. I would have loved for my husband to make me a homemade coupon for 1 free day of "Daddy Day Care", where he would keep the baby for the day, and give her a whole day to do something for herself (Get a Manicure, Pedicure, Got to a spa, or even just have a whole day laying in bed). She will love that, and you get bonus points for being creative with the homemade "coupon". Perhaps, she will be so grateful, you will be welcoming #3 next year, lol. Good Luck!

I think a great gift for a new mom would be a massage. You could also buy bath salts and bubbles for a relaxing bath with candles also.
I think the best gifts for new moms are things that will relax her and give her a break.

A scrapbook with photos of the births of both of your children. Or one of those Mothers rings with the birth stone of each child. You are a very thoughtful husband!
