I read an article last week that made me mad. They currently have a paid voluntary army. It's reported that at any given time like even now during this war time that 25% are ALWAYS on vacation! They usually show up on pay day and during important excerizes only 2/3 of them show up.

Then again who were the bright leaders that decided to disban a 300,000+ standing Army in Iraq to then turn around and complain that they cannot create a new one; oh yeah, the United States of America.

Smart move Uncle Sam. Take 300,000 fully trained Soldiers (very well trained to say the least who were NOT all Saddam loyalists) and kick them to the curb only to start from scratch.

Iraq has no draft yet. They can't seem to get there government straight. I pray and hope we don't have to go to the draft, but I feel it will come. Pity my kids.
