what kind of side would you serve

First of all...YUM! For a side I'd go with a light salad with a vinaigrette, nothing heavy. That'll balance out the shrimp and grits.

I would serve a fresh spinach salad with a light balsamic vin. dressing topped with a little bit of very thinly sliced red onion, mandarin orange slices, bacon bits and walnuts.

Now I want shrimp and grits!!

Grilled asparagus. Put fresh asparugus olive oil to coat salt and pepper in a ziplock bag and coat. Place on the grill just until grill marked. It's delicious and light
