you are not sick its only natural to be attracted to the opposite sex, I think it is possible to have a bf of the opposite sex you just have to keep your boundries because it can ruin the friendship if you take it further!

No, I don't think you are sick. I have some very good friends who are of the opposite sex and I often think of what it would be like making out with them.

Unless I am sure I would not take it any further though, because making that initial advance might just ruin a good friendship.

Anyway, if you are a "pro," you needn't bring up the matter of sex. Just create the right conditions and it will happen. If you have misread the situation you can always back out gracefully and the relationship will be in tact.

With some people though, being just good friends is better than being sexual partners.

No it is not impossible to be best friends with the opposite sex. I am a female and my best friend is a male. It seems to me like the opposite sex understands you more when you just need someone to talk to and trust me I think about sleeping with my bf to but if you are in a serious relationship then you dont need to go there and even try it because if your lover finds out it would be very upsetting to them. And when I seen my bf nude for the fist time I was shocked b/c I had spent the night and I thought I was the only one there and I wasn't i walked in the bathroom on him naked but after that i dont getso shocked when hes naked around me.

People may want to believe they can keep a close friendship with a person of the opposite sex, but when all is said and done, it usually turns into sex, which in return alsways seems to put an end to your friendship. So I do not know if you are a male or a female, but if you want some good advice, stick with friends of the same sex, especially if you are married or have a boyfriend or girlfriend, because it is not fair to your partner either.

You're probably in your teens and having a bit of trouble adjusting to life as a pubescent adult. (You and every other teenager)

Of course it is possible. My suggestions are anything you can do to "calm the urges", which many therapists support. But fantasies about members of the opposite sex are very common, even with just friends.

Also realize that many of these feelings are just due to your hormones and should be disregarded if possible. Realize that sex isn't as important as everyone makes it out to be, and that relationships with people are, in the long run, far more valuable.

It's called maturity and learning to be friends with someone first. I am a woman, and aside from my husband, my two best friends are male. That's because we've ALWAYS been friends. We were friends first and foremost. I'm even still very good friends with boys I dated in high school and college. Yes, it's possible, but it has to do with level of maturity and your ability to focus on friendship rather than sex. And who knows -- maybe something will grow into something more, but all relationships should start with friendship.

You aren't sick. You just haven't met the right person of the opposite sex that truly cares about you enough to be a friend.

I think that the opposite sex can't be best friends because whether or not it is the male or female, sex is ALWAYS on the others mind. Unless of course the other is gay.

This sounds like you've developed some sort of feeling for your friend. I would let this person know of your feelings or yours will end up getting hurt in the long run.
