I am a young single woman. I know I have a long life ahead of me, but sometimes I just feel like marriage and children are not for me. I don't think that I can handle it. Are there other women out there who feel this same way? When I daydream, I think, sure it would be nice to have a man in my life, but my biggest dream is to have my own house, pets and space to do my art work. I don't feel pressure from my family or society to get married or anything, I just wanted to know if anyone else out there feels this same way. Please share your story with me. Thanks!

I think I understand what you mean. I don't think I'm cut out for marriage. Ultimately I would like to have a couple kids, a dog and my own place. If there happens to be a special someone that comes along that I feel really connected to then so be it. I don't particularly care whether marriage follows or not. As long as you're happy in the long run. :)

I feel the same exact way! I don't want to get married, but i do want a long term, faithful relationship. I'm scared to get married. I just keep hearing that when you do (get married) you lose the special 'thing'. I know thats not true in all instances, but that factor still scares me. Its okay thought, we are young and have a long time to think about what we really want =)

There are many women that feel that way, it good to know oyou have these feeling now rather than after you are married and have children..Thre is nothing wrong with wanting to live life without the commitment of a long term relationship.
