We recently took in a stray puppy and gave it to a good family, while the dog was with us she was coughing and got sick twice, her new owner took her to the vet and she was diagnosed with pneumonia. I have had pneumonia 4 times in the past and I also have a 2 year old who was in contact with the puppy. Could this be passed on to Humans? Any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

No, you can't get pneumonia from being in contact with this dog.

Hi there:
As humans, dogs and other domestic animals suffer similar illnesses in a variety of viruses. I'm not a veterinarian but common sense tells me that people should be careful on how to handle their pets when sick.
