The Canadians are here! I have seen them setting up their stands all over the city this weekend.
Instead of looking right in midtown, try heading a few avenues East or West. The Christmas tree sellers are usually closer to residential areas, not right beside the office buildings along Park and Madison. You should find plenty of them in the 50's along 2nd Avenue. If you head west, they should be out on 8th & 9th Avenues.

OMG, come to 170th street in Broadway(Manhattan), the Canadians are back and they brought real pine trees and are selling them there!!!!!
you will find them in front of the Gristedes, can't miss them

Home Depot has them. Also you can try the sidestreets. I just passed one christmas tree seller around downtown. near the HOlland Tunnel. They sell at weird places. Anywhere vacant.
