most dad's wont let things slide the way mom does. There is also that pecking order mentality I think (Dad's in charge) sort of thing. Besides a back hand from dad usually hurts more then mom's slap (unless she's italian).

In my experience most kids listen more to mom because mom is home all day. Sometimes in some families the kids are scared of dad more because his punishments are harsher and he for sure carries the punishment out. Hope this helps you.

Dads usually mean business..It's really how you act. If the mom means business and they listen to the mom it's because the dad is more of a push over..It works both ways.

I have this same problem and have asked many of people what the have told me and from what i have noticed. Is that the fathers have a deeper voice and are more of the disciplinary type where mothers are the nurturing type and have the sensitive touch. And its hard for a child to see there mom as a person to fear like they do with there dads.

I think that it really does depend on whether the child is a boy or girl b/e you feel closer to the person you can relate to the most, but maybe I think the answer for your question is that mothers are usually the leaders of the family, contrary to common belief. And the kids feel like they can side more with the fathers b/e the mothers are more strict than the fathers.

Personally I listened more to my dad then my mom because my dad was always there for me and I knew he'd be there for me no matter what. With my mom she never was there for me, so I learned that if I really ever needed anything I should go to dad, not mom.

I was scared of my dad when I was a kid. He was loud and big and over bearing. I was only scared of my mom when she swore because then I knew I was in real trouble. Maybe thats the way alot of kids feel.

men ask more like the father figrue than women father's are a little harder than mothers 'you know mothers are soft and easy going and they listen more to your promblem and try to help you solve it than your dad does he just put togrther something in his head and he goes with it.
