You cant change the pH with filtration.

Try bettrer test strips.

Are you trying to get ph 7 water (neutral)? If so - go to the store and get distilled water - it is right on 7.

For now - you can increase the PH up to 7 with baking soda.

By the way - tap water with a PH of 5 is normal.

You point out filtering the water. clear out structures can certainly decrease the pH of water if it makes use of an ion exchange device. A pH of 5 would be carried out from CO2, however the water should be extremely clean. try attempting out the water without the clear out.

No doubt the water is acidic but filtration won't increase the pH
to increase the pH you must add some base or simply distill the water and again measure when the surrounding and water temperature is almost 25 degrees.
