I got a tattoo over six months ago, and it still itches. A friend said I may be allergic to the red ink. What can I use to stop the itching?

you may want to contact the doctor if your tattoo hasn't healed over completely. if it is heald and just itching, try some hydrocorozone.

There are a lot of people allergic to the chemical found in red ink. I had a friend who got a tattoo a while ago and it was fine until she got sunburnt in the summer. Then it flared up really bad and kept re-occurring.

I would consult the tattoo artist, they should be able to best tell you what steps you should take in clearing up this issue. Often you can use a topical cream to ease the itching, but that will not really cure the problem.

Red pigments are often toxic and more commonly cause allergic reactions out of all of the pigments. Read this for more info:
