You get 30 days leave a year from April to April not including weekends, depending on the unit you normally get block leave one week in easter, three weeks in the summer and three weeks at xmas which includes bank holidays that does not com off your card, hence the three weeks but you also get the odd bank holiday. Then you also get pre tour leave and post tour leave . Hope that helps...

There is a big difference from being in the Army and being out in the world. The first thing you need to ask yourself is are you ready to make this change? The army is more like a life were as out side the army your life is completely different. As a qualified joiner you will be able to get a good well paid job but you need to bear in mind that this will be a job and not a way of life. If I was you I would stay in the Army as long as possible, get as many qualifications and training courses as possible. Then retire out the army with a full pension.

Andy is spot on ..... If you are worried try speaking to him about your worries ..... I know it is difficult to trust when he is in a foreign country maybe you could arrange to fly over to see him and spend a weekend with him ( air berlin .. cheap flights) is he due to deploy soon? if so he will have two weeks leave .. try not to stress out too much germany is not as good as it sounds in a miltary sense check on the web as most bfg units have a regimental web site i know 35 does

Andy m234 is right. Alfie is partially right. You do get travel warrants to go home, but only 3 a year for your first 3 years. After that, they are no longer issued.
