Have you ever spoken with combat veterans? You'll quickly note they are very hesitant to tell you about how they got medals for valor. Heroic acts, looked at from a distant and cool perspective, can be seen as acts of insanity in impossible circumstances that ended with results some of which were positive in the minds of others. You'll find real heroes almost always do NOT see themselves as heroes.

I think that it means that most heroes only become heroes because of a sad or bad thing that happened. In order for someone to be considered a hero, they usually save someone from a horrible situation. So heroes arise out of tradgedy
